The Federal Antimonopoly service sees the reasons for the rise in price of basic food products in Russia in "the non-objective factors". These data are the head of FAS Igor Artemyev has led to a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

"The prices of meat, vegetables, other food products, buckwheat and sugar, the growth of prices for which we are concerned in the last time, and sunflower oil is associated with biased reasons, this is a big part in the price", - he stressed. In this regard, FAS has already initiated 98 Affairs "on the facts of price increases, in no way associated with the external environment".

"They have no relation to imports, as everything is produced in our country, or the percentage growth rates for imports is only a few percentage units, and growth (food) is 30-40-50%", - noted with regret Artemiev, adding that such a situation can be traced throughout the country.

In this regard, he assured that the FAS in conjunction with other authorities, including representatives of the Prosecutor General's office intends to continue conducting audits and daily monitoring, including responding to citizens ' appeals "hot line" of the office.

"Import prices are dominant today (food market) and people who want to warm the hands, that always happens in crisis situations, it is necessary to prosecute", - said Artemyev. "Our goal is to bring down a wave of speculative expectations", he added.

The head of the FAS is also expressed his opinion about the rise in price of sugar. He believes that in this case the role played by import duties. "Many import duties in Russia are denominated in foreign currency and changes in the attitudes of the ruble and the dollar, they began to perform the locking market function, rather than fiscal, adding to the budgets. This applies to sugar and other food products", - said Artemyev, suggesting in this regard to look at the possibility of adjustment duties.

This Medvedev remarked that sugar in our country, the share of imports is small. "It is necessary to distinguish the objective of raising the price of the subjective", - he stressed.
