Vegetable prices in Russia increased by "terrible", but the market already has a certain stabilization of prices of food products. This was announced to journalists by the head of the Federal Antimonopoly service Igor Artemyev.

"The stabilisation is already happening now. But what can we do if the vegetables we are born only in the fall? Therefore, the prices, of course, grew up with terrible on this part of the product, and this is regrettable. But most likely, we will have to wait until the next harvest or other measures to apply: to reduce import duties, for example," said Artemyev.

According to Rosstat, fruits and vegetables in Russia grew by 42.2% in February 2015 to February 2014. Thus, excluding fruit and vegetable products foodstuffs in February 2015 has risen substantially less - 20.8%

The largest price increase of vegetables since the beginning of 2015 to January 29 was observed on cabbage by 29% since the beginning of the year rose significantly tomatoes - 27%, onions and carrots - 20%
