Today during a speech at the Forum for Food security in Rostov-on-don, Russia Rustam Minnikhanov , the acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan, told about the achievements and plans of the Republic in the near future.

The statistics speak for themselves: today, Tatarstan occupies a leading position in the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation. If the leadership in many aspects – gross product of agriculture and horticulture in General, the production of grain, vegetables and fruits belongs to such recognized leaders as the Kuban and Rostov region, Tatarstan – a confident third place in the production of many types of products. In recent years the Republic has become one of the leaders among producers of milk.

In difficult nineties Tatarstan is one of the few not reduced livestock numbers, and today, Rustam Minnikhanov assured, here are the lowest prices of social foodstuffs. And success in agricultural production, in his opinion, the Republic owes much to the agro-parks, first among the regions running this format of interaction between the farmer and the buyer.

In the near future due to the commissioning of new capacity Republic multiple plans to increase meat production by expanding production facilities of companies such as "Chelny broiler", and other leaders of the poultry industry of the Republic. Help the pig industry will have a selection-genetic centre, and the largest crushing cluster "Nefis" will expand the production capacity of vegetable oils up to 1 million tons per year.
