Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will speak at the first national forum on food security in Rostov-on-don, the press service of the government.
The forum will also be attended by Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Minister of agriculture Alexander Tkachev, as well as heads of regions, heads of agricultural enterprises and farms and representatives of the scientific community and specialized media.
As the press service of the Cabinet, the main theme of the forum held for the first time will be the interim results of implementation of the food security doctrine of the Russian Federation and further steps for its implementation.
In 2010 Medvedev, who then held a post of the President of Russia, approved the food security Doctrine of the Russian Federation. It became the basis for state policy in the field of food and agriculture. The strategic goal of food security is the provision of population with safe agricultural, fishery products and food.
Thursday in Rostov began his all-Russia forum of food safety, where the first high-level discussions on the interim results of implementation of the Doctrine and further steps for its implementation.
