Greece is ready to allocate for the development of agriculture about 6 billion euros until 2020.

This was announced by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, speaking in the Ministry of industrial reform, environmental protection and energy, responsible for the agricultural development.

According to him, large investments are allocated to the program of development of agricultural production for the period up to 2020, which is already presented for consultation to the European Union.

"This program has the ability to Fund-raising 6 billion euros, of which 4.7 billion euros will come from EU funds," said Tsipras. - When used correctly, this money can be created more than 50 thousand jobs, ensure the transition of agriculture to sustainable agri-food model, generated the conditions for the comprehensive development of rural areas".

The head of government noted that "the program will provide incentives to young farmers, increase the added value of products." To implement the program more than 30% of the funds will be allocated to the regions, which will be responsible for its implementation, he said.

Analyzing the proposals of the government for the development of agriculture, Tsipras stressed that their main idea is to equitable distribution of the tax burden.

"We aspire to the office of professional farmers from those who receive income from agricultural areas, but mostly works in another area," he said. - We uphold the principle that farmers who are more than 50% of their income produced in agriculture was taxed at a rate of 13% instead of 23%, with an advance payment of this tax was 50%, not 100%". "We offer a special tax incentive measures for young farmers", - said Tsipras.

The Prime Minister also said that the government's priorities included direct assistance to agriculture in the amount of 2.4 million euros per year, which, in particular, will be achieved and a struggle with the bureaucracy in the state organizations.
