Estonia will receive from the European Union 7. 5 million euros as compensation of losses of agricultural producers from war to EU sanctions with Russia. About it today, 16 September, reported Estonian Raadio 4 with reference to the Minister of rural life in Estonia, a member of the ruling right-wing liberal Reformist party Urmas Kruuse.

Funds will be directed to pig breeders and milk producers, who suffer both from falling input prices, and a difficult situation on external markets. Pig farms Estonia also suffer from the epidemic of African swine fever.

The decision was taken on 15 September at the meeting of Ministers of agriculture of member countries of the EU in Luxembourg. The total amount allocated to the EU compensation amounted to 429 million euros.

Farmers Estonia believe that the allocation amount is clearly not enough, and require the state additional compensation. Total losses of their estimated 30 to 50 million euros.
