Orchards in the vicinity of Sevastopol undergo invasion of a quarantine pest "Oriental fruit moth". Dangerous insect inspectors found Saveljevskaja in monitoring of quarantine phytosanitary state of the territory of the city of Sevastopol, which was carried out jointly with specialists of the branch of the fgbi "VNIIKR" in the Republic of Crimea.

The Oriental fruit moth dangerous quarantine pest of limited spread on the territory of the Russian Federation. The origin of this species is East Asia and such countries as China, Korea and Japan. Currently the Oriental fruit moth has now been reported in 44 countries. In Russia, the pest was detected in 9 regions of South and 1 North-Western Federal districts. Infected area of perennial fruit plantings is about 10 thousand hectares.

In connection with the identification of Oriental fruit moth in agricultural enterprises of Sevastopol region Main Department of land and phytosanitary surveillance in the city of Sevastopol has made changes in the order from 10.08.2015 №94 "About the establishment of quarantine phytosanitary zones and introduction of quarantine regimes on the territory of the city of Sevastopol"
