The Ministry of agriculture of Canada cut its assessment of the stocks of canola in the season 2015/16 to 600 thousand tons to 1.10 million tons that is twice less than level of last year. Inventory valuation was reduced due to the increase in forecast exports of canola from Canada, activation of which occurs under the influence of the growth in global demand for canola oil and canola meal.

Despite the yield reduction of canola (14.3 million tonnes in the current season) compared with the previous year (decrease of 12.9 per cent ), the rate of export exceeds the level of the previous season.

For the first two months of the season (August and September) Canada exported 1.38 million tons of canola. The main buyer of canadian canola is China, then Japan and Mexico. One of the factors supporting the momentum of exports is the weakening of the canadian dollar against other world currencies.
