The management of Sakhalin hopes to resolve the issue of self-sufficiency in milk through the territory of advanced development (TOR), "South", writes news Agency TASS.

This THOR-oriented agriculture was one of two issued by the governmental sub-Commission on the implementation of investment projects in the far East. The second THOR calls "Mountain air". Officials assume that the creation of these TOR will not require money from the state.

Only on Sakhalin it is planned TOR three, but so far none of them created. TOR should give an impetus to business development on the island. "South" is largely aimed at improving the situation of food security in the region. Most of the food on Sakhalin is currently delivered. For example, milk from own production island meets the needs of the population by only 23%. It is assumed that "South" will be able to raise this figure to 58%. THOR will come in far East agricultural holdings and farms – "merci invest", "agro green", "state Farm Zarechye" and state farm "Hothouse".

In the early years they will build two dairy complexes, greenhouse farming and pig farm, which leaves 6.3 billion rubles. the Construction will start in 2016, and the first products will be available in 2017. In the future THOR "South" will give an additional 24 thousand tons of crude milk a year. In 2018, expect a further 15 thousand tonnes of milk to make on the island. Sakhalin plans to provide themselves with raw milk by 55% by 2020. To provide 70 percent of the milk island it is necessary to increase milk production more than doubled – from 100 to 200 tons per day.

Raw milk the island produces only a few farms, of which "the Farm Zarechnoye" involved in TOR "the South" is one of the largest. Many dairy production in the Sakhalin region are on the verge of closing is the "Komsomolets", "Korsakovsky and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk". 380 million rubles, allocated to them this spring so far has not helped to save them.
