In the Orenburg region for carrying out spring field work, farmers will need to 34 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers in physical weight. Today, agricultural producers purchased 13.3 thousand tons, accounting for 39% of the needs for spring-field works. This was at the briefing said the Minister of agriculture, food and processing industry of Orenburg oblast Mikhail Maslov.

Insufficient for the purchase of fertilizers the Minister explained substantial price increases. Thus, the average price of ammonium nitrate rose to 16 700 rubles per 1 ton, which is 10% higher than in 2015. For other types of mineral fertilizer ("Urea", "required for plant growth", "Amoros", "Nitronote") rates increased by 8 to 24%.

Additionally, the total area of cultivated crops on the territory of the Orenburg region will remain at the level of 2015 — 4218,1 thousand ha Cereals and legumes are planning to sow on 2809,1 thousand hectares, sunflower on grain — 703,4 thousand hectares, corn on grain — on 150 thousand ha, maize for silage — 57,8 thousand ha, annual grasses — on 216,8 thousand hectares.

The harvest of 2016 bombarded with seeds of spring grain and leguminous crops 336,6 thousand tons, or 98% of the needs, which amounts to 343 thousand tons.
