The Board of Directors of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of 2 July approved the allocation of Danish group of companies Axzon A/S, one of the largest pork producers in Poland and Ukraine, 10-16 million euros.
According to a post on the IFC website, the total project cost for the expansion and improvement of company activities in the North-West of Poland and West of Ukraine is 179 million euros. The remaining part of the project will be financed through loans from other financial institutions and internal generation of funds.
Axzon Group is developing pig units in Denmark, Poland, Ukraine and Russia. Apart from pig farming in Ukraine, the company is engaged in crop production, feed production, biogas and electricity.
Axzon A/S runs more than 30 pig farms in Poland, about 10 pig farms in Ukraine, as well as two pig farms in Russia.
