On the planned first million tons of grain, Governor of Kursk region Alexander Mikhailov told Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the presidential envoy in the Central Federal district Alexander Beglov and the Minister of agriculture Alexander Tkachev.

To date, the region harvested 26% of the area. The average grain yield is 45 tons per hectare, reports the press-service of administration of Kursk region.

The harvesting campaign started in the region on 7 July. The first harvesting began farming Belovsky and Solntsevo districts. By 18 July the harvest has begun , farmers all 28 districts of the region.
