The income of farmers of Finland grew last year by 40% and continue to fall, demonstrating the highest reduction in the European Union, including due to the reduction in milk prices, the delay of the subsidies and the Russian embargo on the import of agricultural products.

"According to the organization, last year, farmers' incomes from entrepreneurial activity has fallen by approximately 40 %, from 16.9 million euros in 2014 to 9.7 million Euro in 2015", — informs the organization and clarifies that the decrease in farmers ' income in Finland was last year the largest in the European Union.

"The deplorable situation is due to the decrease in purchase prices for milk, delay in the payment of subsidies and embargoes imposed by Russia on imports of European agricultural products", — experts explain. The MTK Chairman Juha Marttila does not believe in the imminent improvement of the situation of Finnish farmers. According to him, the signs of positive trends are not yet visible.
