Participation in the exercise was attended by the chairmen of the antiepizootic commissions at administrations of districts of the Leningrad region, heads, deputies and veterinarians-epizootology state institutions of veterinary science of the Leningrad region, heads of the hunting farms of the Leningrad region, specialists of the Committee on protection, control and regulation of use of fauna objects of the Leningrad region and their colleagues from the Republic of Karelia.
This is the third exercises with the participation of several subjects of Federation, organized by the veterinary Administration of Leningrad region. Prior to that, worked out mechanisms of interaction between mobile units of the Leningrad region the Pskov and Novgorod colleagues.
A comprehensive program of Leningrad region to prevent introduction of the virus of African swine fever (ASF) marked by the Ministry of agriculture – was awarded the diploma and gold medal of the XVIII Russian agroindustrial exhibition "Golden autumn". For 6 years the region has successfully protects their well-being on the dangerous disease of animals.
In 2017, work will continue on the basis of the action plan of the Russian Government to prevent introduction into the territory of the Russian Federation of African swine fever and its spread in the territory of the Russian Federation.
The expected innovations are related to the work to prevent the spread of ASF in wild boars and the need to regulate their numbers. In accordance with the action plan improving security in the region by creating buffer zones adjacent to the state border of the Russian Federation and around the pig-breeding complexes up to a width of 10 km, free from wild boars and domestic pigs.
