Half of the subsidies allocated by the European Commission, and the other half to the state of Estonia, said in the press release of the Ministry of agriculture and rural life.

"Dispensing crisis assistance, we have taken into account the proposals made by the representative organizations of agricultural producers. Highlighting these tools, we want to help going through hard times dairy and pig sectors, to promote the stabilization of the market", — said the Minister of agriculture and life Martin Repin.

As reported by the Agency, the amount allocated most of molokoobrazovanie to 12.7 million euros, subsidies to pig producers will amount to a total of 3.4 million euros. For dairy farms the rate of subsidy will amount to 153 Euro per dairy cow. The rate of subsidizing pig farms will vary depending on the period during which the farm is located in the quarantine zone for African swine – farms caught up in Achs in the third quarantine zone in 2016, the rate will be 27,24 EUR per animal for pig farms located in the third quarantine zone in 2015, this rate will be 22,52 EUR per animal. In other regions of Estonia rate of 13.62 euros per sow and 8 euros for each pig.

For subsidies to producers of milk and pork must meet at least one of three criteria – they must be small producers, to increase production of its primary product or join any scheme of the environmental programme support the development of rural life.

"More precise rules for the submission of applications are developed now, but we want to start to pay benefits at the beginning of 2017 as soon as possible" — said Repin.

Estonian molokoobrazovanie are in a difficult position due to the overproduction and, as a consequence, lower prices, and pig farmers – in connection with epidemic of the African plague of pigs, which failed to stop. The crisis in the dairy sector affected manufacturers not only in Estonia but also in other EU countries, caused largely by the economic sanctions of Russia, which ceased the import of almost all agricultural products. It's painful impact on her Western neighbours, which have traditionally sold a lot of dairy products.

Estonia now produces about two times more milk than it can sell. According to the Trade-agrarian chamber dairy herd of Estonia over the last two years declined more than 10 thousand heads, representing more than 10% of the total number of dairy cows in the agricultural sector. Pig farmers suffer losses and are forced to close the farm due to the spread of ASF.
