As reported, in June 2016, the Russian company "Zabaykalsky grain terminal", and Chinese Muyang Holdings Co., Ltd signed the agreement on creation of the infrastructure part of the project "New land grain corridor Russia-China". It involves the construction of Zabaykalsky grain terminal (Zabaikalsk - Manchuria) whose facilities are designed for handling up to 8 million tons per year of cereals, legumes and oilseeds, as well as 29 key elevators.

The project creates the possibility of realization of potential of Siberia for the production and export of grain in China and is being implemented under the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the development of the "strategy of development of the grain industry up to 2030".
