In 2016, the import of Turkey meat in physical terms continued noticeable decline and dropped to minimal amounts in previous years, as evidenced by the data of marketing research of world and Russian market of Turkey meat held by the company GLOBAL REACH CONSULTING (GRC).

According to the FCS, the import volume of Turkey meat in Russia in 2016 decreased by 40.5% to only 3.4 thousand tonnes. The trend of reduction of import on Russian market of Turkey has been observed since 2006, and during that time the dynamics never observed growth.

Brazil remains the main partner for imports of Turkey meat to Russia. In 2016, it has provided almost 98% of deliveries in kind. From this country comes only frozen products, and mainly cutting. Imported Turkey carcases is not exported to Russia in 2016. The rest of the supply of this product in Russia has provided Chile.
