Users of social networks published pictures of huge queues in supermarkets, filled carts and empty shelves. Food panic began in the country despite claims of the authorities that residents do not need to fear food shortages.

Previously, the government of eight countries – Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, the Maldives and the Republic of Mauritius announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Qatar because of its support of terrorism and extremist ideology.

It is known that Qatar is heavily dependent on food imports, primarily from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries.
