Russian President Vladimir Putin during a straight line said that our country has always lived under sanctions. Introduced them when he felt competition.

"When our partners in the world felt in the face of Russia as a serious competitor, under various pretexts were introduced some limitations. It was throughout our history, I'm not even talking about Soviet times, but in the past it was. This is not surprising", — said the President of Russia.

Vladimir Putin noted that the countries that imposed sanctions, has lost more than Russia. So, the losses of Russia from sanctions amounted to 50-52 billion vs $ 100 billion from countries that introduced them.

"Sanctions are a double-edged weapon", — said the President.

He also noted that such restrictions have their advantages. "We have restored the competence in electronics, aviation, missile area, in the pharmaceutical industry now are we have good processes in heavy engineering. And I'm not talking about agriculture. We all know, the growth of somewhere around 3% (agriculture ed.), Russia has become the number one leader in the export of grain, wheat. We have significantly reduced purchases of imports, own production, for example in pork, poultry meat almost completely covers our needs", — said the President, noting that Russia is looking for markets for them, in particular, to China.

Putin noted that in case of withdrawal of anti-Russian sanctions, our country will be forced to do the same in the framework of WTO membership. In this regard, he advised the farmers to do everything possible now to be competitive in the future.
