The Ministry of agriculture of Estonia convene an urgent meeting to discuss the mass death of bees in different regions of the country, the causes of which are not installed. This is stated in the official statement published on the website of the Ministry of agriculture, reported IA REGNUM.

The roundtable, which will take place on July 19, representatives of the Ministry of agriculture, Department of veterinary science and food, Agricultural and chambers of Commerce, organisations of beekeepers, honey producers, farmers, representatives of academic institutions, operators of railway infrastructure and transportation.

Over the last two weeks recorded 5 cases of mass death of bees in the four regions of Estonia. Specialists of the Department of veterinary and food visited each of these places and took samples to establish the cause of death of bees, and in these surroundings than sprayed plants.

"I killed a lot of bees, so this is a serious problem. Even one case of mass death of bees is already very much", — said the Minister of agriculture Tarmo Tamm. According to him, the causes should be ascertained in the coming weeks.

The wave of mass death of bees, which began in the US 10 years ago, soon reached Europe, and spread around the world, bypassed only Australia. Still not found an answer, someone to blame for the death of bees was bee disease, irresponsible human activities, excessive use of chemicals in agriculture, genetically modified organisms.
