The Director of the Department of crop and mechanization of the Ministry of agriculture of Chechnya Magomed Elmurzaev stated that in connection with the massive spread of locust mode CHS is entered in the Grozny, Gudermes, Nadterechny, Naur and Shelkovsk districts.

"The site is the operational headquarters for the elimination of pests. Conducted chemical control measures with the use of ground vehicles and small aircraft, for the monitoring of the phytosanitary situation in the region" — quoted by TASS Selmurzaev.

He added that the reserve Fund of the government of the Republic for the elimination of locusts has allocated 5 million roubles. Insects basically fall into Chechnya from Dagestan, said Selmurzaev.

According to the agricultural centre on August 8, special equipment for protection against pests has processed more than 7 thousand ha of agricultural lands of Chechnya.
