Power Novgorod region expect to attract companies from Finland to new projects in the fishing industry in the region. On Tuesday, the Governor of the region Andrei Nikitin discussed in Novgorod prospects of cooperation in the field of aquaculture at a meeting with business delegation from Finland, the correspondent of TASS.
"Agriculture and the fishing industry in particular, is important for us strategic direction, and I think we can find a lot of interesting examples for cooperation. We are ready, do and will continue to offer the best conditions for Russian and foreign investors on the territory of the Novgorod region", - said the Governor.
Representatives of business community of Finland has expressed interest in possible joint aquaculture projects. "The region is of great interest from the point of view of fish farming. The statements which are here made of different specialists, convinced us that the best conditions for fish farming. We are manufacturers of equipment for fish farming and in the future may even consider the possibility of localization of our production here in the region", - told TASS the representative of the Finnish company KN COMPOSITE OY.
According to the government of the Novgorod region, the region has great potential for development of aquaculture: there are about thousands of lakes, the region is ready to provide the use of groundwater to companies of a closed loop.
In the Novgorod region is already underway implementation of the project on trout and construction of feed mill for aquaculture, with the participation of another Finnish company "AII Corporation OY". The planned volume of investments into the economy of Okulovsky district, where will be located the production will be at least $50 million, is expected to create about 150 jobs.
