For seven months of the current season (from July 2017 to January 2018) Russia exported peas already more than the record last season 2016/2017. The growth of exports due to record harvest of peas in 2017, which for the first time exceeded 3 million tons and increased by 1.5 times compared with the year 2016.

According to IA "APK-inform", in 2017, the gross harvest of leguminous crops in Russia totaled 4.3 million tons, which is 45 per cent higher than a year earlier and is the highest annual volume for the country. When record yields were achieved on the major leguminous crops - peas, chickpeas and lentils.

So, the gross yield of pea in Russia to 2017-3.3 mln tons (+49% compared to 2016). Chickpea production for the year increased to 419 thousand tons (+31%), lentils to 198 thousand tons (growth in 3 times).
