Tatarstan authorities plan to 2018 to build in the major cities of the region 17 agro parks, while they are only in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny. This was announced by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexei Pesoshin at a meeting of the state Council of the Republic on Thursday.

"Promising direction is the creation of a network of agro-industrial parks including in rural areas. To date, the country already has parks in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny, work to create 17 rural agro-industrial parks in 14 major cities of the Republic," he said.

Pesoshin added that agriculture of the Republic fully provide the population with main products. The authorities will also develop the direction of agricultural fairs.

"Last year in all the major cities of the region there were 16 fairs, they sold products worth over 1 billion rubles," - said the official.
