In Rostov-on-don hosted a meeting on issues of organization of artificial reproduction, aquaculture and fisheries on the territory of Rostov and Volgograd regions. The event was led by the head of the Federal Agency for fisheries, Deputy Minister of agriculture of Russia Ilya Shestakov.

The Rostov region continues to hold the leading position in the production of marketable fish in the South of Russia. The volume of this production in the region amounted to 22.1 thousand tonnes in 2017 that is the effective result of the work of enterprises engaged in aquaculture activities, said the head of the Agency.

"At the Federal level for a long time has taken various steps to stimulate the number of fish intended for industrial catches. One of the most successful measures is constantly increasing jobs in state factories involved in the breeding and production of fingerlings in reservoirs", – said Ilya Shestakov.

The head of Rosrybolovstvo also added that now is an important application that will allow to renew the contracts for the catch of aquatic bioresources for 15 years. Elaborating on the problems of the industry in the Rostov region, the Deputy Minister pointed to the existence of issues in production, concerning the organization of fishing in tsimlyanskoye reservoir and ensure equal access of fishermen to the setting of fixed nets.

The meeting drew attention to prospects of development of the don fishery complex in fish processing. In the region there are about 60 enterprises producing dried, smoked and salted fish, meats vacuum Packed, preserved and canned.

"The development of the market will definitely go in this direction because the niche of fresh fish in the region is already occupied. We see our role in providing subsidization of costs of small enterprises for the organization and modernization of production for these purposes", – said the Minister of agriculture and food of Rostov region Konstantin Rafalowski.

Note that now the don there are over 300 local fish organizations, leading its activities in three areas of aquaculture: prudovogo, industrial and pasture farming. Is industrial fishing companies using the resources of the Azov and Black seas as well as inland freshwater reservoirs – tsimliansk, Veselovsky and Proletarskoe reservoirs.
