On Tuesday the state Duma adopted in the first reading a bill that establishes legal bases of regulation of relations in the field of organic production. In particular, the document determines which products can be sold as organic, and the principles of its production, the powers of the authorities. Manufacturers of such products will be able to voluntarily certify their production.

"Clearer rules of the game will allow the market to develop faster. A simple example: we recently looked at the statistics for the development of organic agriculture in Austria and Germany, where until 1992 the number of producers was small enough", — said Mironenko.

"The adoption of legislation definition of rules and clearing shelves allow to develop the number of manufacturers exponentially in a very short period of time. We expect exactly the same effect in Russia. We'd like to reach by the end of 2019 to increase to at least 100-200 producers per year," he added.

In addition, the law on organic agriculture can help buyers and products. "Today, the consumer coming into the store, she could not clearly define what an organic product, how to find information about him. When buying a product, he's not sure he buys that is organic product. We are now on the shelves see a lot of pseudo bio-, eco-products and so forth," — said the head of the Union.

"After the law, the consumer will receive a more accurate understanding of what is organic, how it's produced. The establishment of a register of producers will allow him sufficient physical shape to find information on the Internet about various manufacturers about these or other certificate", — said Mironenko. In turn, regulatory authorities, according to him, will be able to "clear the shelves" from defective products.
