The gardens of intensive type in the area of 200 hectares plan to lay this year in Karachay-Cherkessia, reported on Thursday a press-service of head and government of the Republic.

"The development of horticulture is one of the priority objectives of the regional program of import substitution. In the Republic every year and actively expand the area of gardens of intensive type. This year it is planned to lay a 200 hectare", - stated in the message.

In 2017 in the Republic made bookmark gardens on an area of 339 ha, of which 239 ha of intensive orchards, noted the press service.

Earlier it was reportedthat a large investment project on the laying of the fruit gardens of intensive type in the area of 203 hectares is implemented in the Adyge-Khabl district of the KCR company "Gardens of Karachay-Cherkessia". The total investment in the project is estimated in 800 million roubles, has already invested 400 million, planted 130 hectares of gardens. While the company grows only apples, with future plans to have pears, cherries and plums. The project also envisages the construction of two podobrannim with a capacity of 5 tons each and line for processing of fruits.

As reported TASS in the Ministry of agriculture KCR, now the average year the country has grown more than 6 thousand tons of fruit. The area of orchards in the region is about 1 thousand hectares.
