Authorities in Stavropol region are planning expansion of export potential of the region through the sale of products in Kazakhstan. That could be promising for local producers, said the Minister of economic development of the region Valery Sizov at the Board office.

"A lot of exhibitions and events [held in 2017] that a lot of concluded agreements, which under them have real contracts and investments. Some we want to change the geography of exhibition activities - this year we plan to enter the market of Kazakhstan, because we think it's quite promising," he said.

According to the Ministry, as a result of foreign visits and receptions of foreign delegations in 2017, the producers of the Stavropol region signed 91 export contract worth 1.35 billion rubles. "I am glad that the structure of exports is changing - we begin to trade not only raw materials, food processing is growing in the structure of exports as manufactured goods, equipment", - said Sizov.

As reported, foreign trade turnover of the Stavropol territory at the end of 2017 exceeded $1.7 billion, a growth compared with the year 2016 20%. "In 2018 we have decided to allocate funds for co-financing of certification. There is product need to be certified for entry into foreign markets. For 2017 some 50 new products brought to new markets, including certified," - said the Minister.

Among the successful examples in the Ministry previously called manufacturer's desserts "Chizberri", which began to supply products to China, in addition, the Stavropol poultry producers began exporting to the Middle East.
