This year the regional Ministry of agriculture has included in the registry industry-8 projects total investment of 17 billion rubles. Top priority was discussed at the meeting of the Council for investment in the agricultural sector of the region.

So, in Novospassky district completed construction of a livestock breeding complex "agro-Neptune" 1 200 head of cattle. It is assumed that the average milk yield in the municipality, thanks to the appearance of the farm, will increase to 10 tons per cow. The investor will submit to the project is 500 million rubles, annual revenues from sales will amount to 245 million in the first year and 319 million - at the exit of the complex at full capacity. The farm will employ at least 20 people in the region.

A major project of livestock production meat production will be realized by the investor from the USA in Teren'gul'skoe district. Investments are estimated at 1.5 billion rubles, the number of jobs is not less than two hundred. The complex will manufacture the Kalmyk breeds characterized by high meat quality and easy maintenance. The size of cattle of Kalmyk breed on the farm is 2 thousand heifers. Also Kuzovatovskogo the district is preparing to implement a project of poultry-farming factory for the production of Turkey meat. The complex will produce up to 24 thousand tons of meat annually.

In the industrial Park in Dimitrovgrad ADZ will have a large greenhouse complex with an area of 25 hectares. Here in greenhouses to grow tomatoes and cucumbers. Another greenhouse complex of closed type will appear in the village of Oktyabrsky Cherdaklinsky district. On the territory of the Zavolzhsky industrial area is actively implementing the project of wholesale distribution centre with the point of slaughter of cattle and the factory, intended for the processing of raw materials and manufacturing finished food products to social institutions in Ulyanovsk region. There will eventually be established food cluster-oriented enterprise in production and processing of food. The area of the cluster will be 22 hectares. The stated investment in the project is 55 million rubles. As said General Director of regional development Corporation Sergey Vasin, leading of engineering infrastructure for future cluster objects will begin this year.

Over the last five years agricultural production increased from 28 to 45 billion rubles. Sunflower production increased by 60%, from 132 to 212 thousand tons, vegetables - by 58% (from 100 to 157 thousand tons), sugar beet - has reached 400 thousand tons annually. Also over the past few years, more than 200 thousand hectares of abandoned lands were involved in the production process of agricultural crops, and to date processed more than 1 million hectares.
