Fish-processing enterprises of Karelia Republic received investment quotas totaling 10 billion rubles for the construction of five new vessels of different types. On Thursday TASS reported the head of the Department of fisheries of the Ministry of agriculture and fisheries of the Republic Igor Pepelyaev.

In 2016, adopted a law that defines the criteria for obtaining the investment quota to update the fishing fleet with the construction of the ships at Russian shipyards. In 2018, approved the first projects for the construction of ships and companies on quotas submitted more than 60 applications, most of them supported.

"Four Karelian companies of JSC "Alternative", JSC "Karelian seafood", JSC "Fishing company "Virma" and PTF "Karelryba" received investment quotas of state support for the construction of five vessels. The volume of investments - about 10 billion rubles," - said Pepelyaev.

According to him, due to investco plans to build vessels of various type of fishing fleet in the shipyards of JSC "Vyborg shipyard", PJSC "the Northern shipyard" (St.-Petersburg) and Vympel (Yaroslavl oblast). "Delivery of the vessels is scheduled between 2019 to 2023," said Pepelyaev.The Chairman of the Union rybopromyshlennikov Karelii, a member of the Public Council under the Federal Agency for fishery Ilya Rakowski told TASS that all the statements of the court are modern, able to produce directly into the sea fillets and other products of the highest quality. "These vessels will be able to get paid work by local specialists. The court laid this year. Very soon the economic effect of the selected investcom will be visible", he said.

According to the Ministry of agriculture and fisheries of the Republic, now the Karelian mining enterprises owned 13 commercial courts, which was built in 80-90 years. They were modernized and have modern equipment. Companies extract of ocean fish (cod, haddock, mackerel, blue whiting, capelin), mainly in the Barents sea and in the North-Eastern part of the Atlantic ocean.
