In January-March 2018 the gross milk yield in farms of all categories amounted to 6.6 million tons and has increased relative to the level of 2017 by 2.2%, in the agricultural sector to the gross milk yield increased by 4.6% to 3.9 million tons, According to Rosstat, industrial production of milk, except for raw in January-March 2018 was 1 363,1 million MT (0.8% below the same period of 2017), dairy products (except cheese) – 704,7 thousand tons (2.9% decrease), cheeses – 104,5 thousand tons (2.2% more), foods cheese – 45,1 thousand tons (2.0% less), butter – 61,7 thousand tons (6.5% more) milk and cream dry – 25.4 thousand tons (0.9% less). The volume of Russian imports of basic types of dairy products in recalculation on milk (according to the FCS of Russia) in January-February 2018 declined by 34.2% and amounted to 748,9 thousand tons (in January-February 2017 – 1138,4 thou. tons). According to operative data of the Federal customs service of Russia (excluding trade with the countries of the EEU) in the current year (as of 06.05.2018) compared to the same period in 2017, imports of cheese increased 1.4% to 11.1 thousand tons decrease in shipments of butter from 10.5 thousand tons in the same period of 2017 to 3.6 thousand tonnes in the current year. The supply of milk dry from non-CIS countries decreased from 20.2 thousand tons in the same period of 2017 to 3.1 thousand tons in the current year (countries: Switzerland, New Zealand).
