The delegation of the Omsk region held in Shanghai, Asia's largest international food exhibition SIAL China 2018 held talks with a number of cities in China on the opening of their exhibitions-sales of products of the Siberian farmers. This was announced on Tuesday by TASS, the Minister of agriculture and food of the Omsk region Maxim of Chemesov.

"At the exhibition there were held negotiations and signed a number of protocols for interaction. <...> This also applies to the supply of raw materials and products and a possible investment in the Omsk oblast. Contracts still need to be worked out, and we expect that we will return to this issue when our partners from China will arrive at the "Agroomsk - 2018" (held in July)," said Chekunov.

The Minister of economy of Omsk region Rasim Galyamov said that talks held with representatives of eight major Chinese cities. "It was one of the main tasks set before us at the exhibition. Negotiations for the conclusion of agreements with the cities where we see good prospects for sales of our products," - said the Minister.

According to the Ministry of economy of the Omsk delegation held meetings with representatives of the cities of Manchuria, Urumqi, Datong, Qingdao, Karamay, Tianjin and Shenzhen and the Central business district of Hongqiao in Shanghai. The total population of these cities - about 60 million rubles.

The Chairman of the Committee on agrarian policy of the Legislative Assembly of Omsk region Anatoly Bezzubtsev said that China needs the highest quality products. "But our products are just the least hemitian and very high quality. Without these trips, the results will not have to demonstrate their capabilities and to enter the Chinese market," he said.

Omsk oblast is one of the leading agrarian regions of Russia. From the collected in 2017, the region's grain crop at 3.4 million tons, almost 90% - food grade. The area itself because of the harvest consumes about 1.9 million tons of grain, the remaining volume must be exported.

Trade with China

In foreign trade turnover of China is in second place among foreign trade partners of Omsk oblast. In 2017, the trade turnover between the Siberian region and China grew by 40% and exceeded $ 70 million.
