"The Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance obliged to introduce from may 25 this year, temporary restrictions on supplies to Russia of products manufactured by the Belarusian JSC "Grodno meat-packing plant", — is spoken in the message.

This decision was taken by the service after identifying more than 6 tonnes not stated in the documents of the dry-cured and smoked products from pork meat, worked out by the company and transported together with other meat products to Russia.

"The illegal movement of products from pork from Belarus to Russia can testify to the participation of the certifying veterinarian of the veterinary service of the Grodno organization of the fraudulent scheme of supply of pork products, the import of which into the Russian Federation is temporarily restricted," from the press release.

The Russian Ministry said that in case of re-identification of smuggled products temporary restrictions will be imposed on supplies to Russia of products from the entire territory of the Grodno region.

The Rosselkhoznadzor sent an official letter to the Department of veterinary and food supervision of the Ministry of agriculture and food of the Republic of Belarus with a request to inspect and to take action to avoid further such cases.

Previously, the Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed and lifted restrictions on the supply of products from some Belarusian enterprises for various reasons, and establishes the regime of enhanced laboratory control. The restrictions have affected more than 50 Belarusian enterprises.
