"The reasons for concern in connection with a reduction of the import of dry dairy products is not observed", — the Ministry said. The Ministry of agriculture also noted that dairy farming is one of the areas of agriculture, with the largest growth potential in Russia.

According to Rosstat, in 2017 the total volume of milk production in Russia increased by 1.4% to 31,184 million tons, and agricultural enterprises and farms he rose to 4.1% (15,674 million tonnes) and 8.9% (up to 2,391 million), respectively. Increased production of raw milk, said the Ministry, therefore, entails the growth of production volumes of its products, including dry dairy ingredients.

"They are sufficient for the domestic needs of the country. The Ministry of agriculture is working to facilitate interaction between producers and consumers of dry milk products. All letters received by the Ministry of agriculture on export of milk powder, are being developed in the established order", — reported in a press-service of the Ministry.

On Monday, the newspaper "Kommersant" wrote that the Association of the enterprises of the confectionery industry ("Askond") sent a letter to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, which reported on the shortage of milk powder in confectionery industry due to the ban on imports from Belarus. According Askond, domestic producers can no longer cover the needs for high-quality dry milk products.

Rosselhoznadzor since June 6, has imposed restrictions on supplies to Russia from Belarus of milk and certain dairy products. Bans imposed, in particular in respect of pasteurized, sterilized and UHT milk and cream filling, and powdered milk and cream. The ban covers products that are supplied in consumer containers with a volume of 2.5 liters. Later restrictions for a number of enterprises were abolished.
