In the region in 2014 has the program "Development of dairy cattle breeding with the use of modern technological solutions in the Nizhny Novgorod region". In the framework of this program over 5 years was reconstructed and constructed 46 new facilities with a total capacity of more than 13 thousand heads of cattle. In 2018, was renovated and built 16 dairy facilities with a total capacity of 4.5 thousand heads, a subsidy from the regional budget amounted to 257 million rubles. Under the program, owners of farms will receive a subsidy for the reimbursement of direct costs for the reconstruction and construction of livestock complexes.

As the Minister of agriculture and food resources of Nizhny Novgorod region Nikolay Denisov, now the Department generates a list of objects that will be constructed or reconstructed in 2019. This list included 11 sites. Also Nikolay Denisov added that farmers of the region recommended that the projects breeding units passed the state expertise to the region to participate in the Federal program for reimbursement of 25% of construction costs. Thus, farmers will be able to get 60-70 % of the cost of construction of livestock complex.
