Kverneland Group is among the world leaders in the manufacture of precision seed drills and regularly improving its technology in this direction in accordance with the requirements of the market. The introduction of granular plant protection products at seeding is an important agrotechnical reception, increasing the productivity of row crops, and popular option in Europe, gaining popularity in Russia.

So engineers developed a new system to make microgranulate with electric adjustment for row unit types HDII and SX on row pneumatic seed drills the Optima.

At its creation, the company was guided first and foremost by improving safety and operator comfort. With a simple control, the operator can change the coil even when filled with the granulate of the section: there is no need to first empty it. Due to this, it reduces the risks of direct contact of a person with a drug.

The new system has a tank capacity of one row unit 17 litres and located in such a way that in contact with the metering section of the rear wall. A measuring device developed at the Kverneland Group's plant in the German city of Soest, consists of wear-resistant plastic housing and removable stainless steel coils, which provide accurate dosing of the drug.

The actuator allows the control system via ISOBUS. The control system activates and deactivates the supply of the product in accordance with the work of the row unit. This ensures accurate turn on/off at the end of fields (without passages and permits) and, in addition, allows you to disable the introduction of the drug at the time of laying tramlines.

Developers are not left unattended and the issue of environmental protection: the granulate falls into the furrow without the support of the air, minimising dust emissions.

The new system will be equipped with planter TFprofi Optima, Optima V models, the 6-foot foldable frame, which will appear on the market in the spring of 2019.
