According to the data of Bank of Russia for January-March 2019 under insurance contracts selkhozizdat, concluded on the terms of government support, insurers were assessed 334,7 mln RUB insurance premiums. It's 85% more than in the first quarter of the previous year (181,2 million RUB). In most of the increase was due to the insurance of farm animals, in which the assessed premium increased by 69% to 300.5 million RUB from 178,0 million RUB, the company informed. 34.2 million rubles accrued risk insurance of crop (previous year – 3.2 million rubles).

Still to 350.0 million rubles received by the agricultural insurers of the Russian Federation in January-March 2019 under contracts of agricultural insurance that farmers have made to the conditions without state support. Thus, the overall volume of the market of agricultural insurance in the 1st quarter amounted to 684,7 million.

"The first quarter results do not allow any conclusions about the dynamics of the agricultural insurance market, as during this period the fields are mostly still preparing for the planting season, and APK - are only planning targets and the costs of subsidizing agriculture in the coming year – says the President of the NRA of the Roots of biggov. – In addition, this year only from March 1, entered into force a new law on state support of agricultural insurance, which should stimulate demand. However, the observed pronounced market recovery, according to the NSA, is further confirmation of positive developments in agricultural insurance, which began in 2018".
