Analysts examined 21 brand dry mixes (18 products for children from 0 to 6 months and 3 for children from 0 to 12 months) of both Russian and foreign production. The study included products from Belarus, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Finland, Switzerland and Estonia. The cost at the time of purchase ranged from 53,43 to 288,25 rubles for 100 grams of product.

"Experts Roskoshestvo checked the substitutes of breast milk for microbiological safety, the presence of preservatives and antibiotics. The results showed that the products of all brands are safe for the health of babies and does not contain hazardous microorganisms (including Salmonella), mold and yeast, preservatives and antibiotics, lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic", — stated in the message.

Also during the inspection were not found and melamine, which is used in producing plastics, varnishes, furniture, as well as there are no identified exceedances in terms of safety and GMOs. At the same time, the study identified the problem of reliable communication to consumers about the content in products of vitamins and nutrients.

"On the label of the majority of trade marks applied information on the content of vitamins and nutrients not relevant to the specific banks. Actual concentrations of trace elements and vitamins may vary. Despite the fact that most compounds were within the range required for adequate nutrition of a healthy child, incorrect information creates inconvenience in the selection of baby food. Thus, the mixture which are more calcium or vitamin C may in fact not be so. And, therefore, does not answer the expectations which it imposes on the consumer. This problem may be associated with the methods of "dry" mix in production — this manufacturing method does not allow to achieve homogeneity of composition," — are reported words of the Deputy head of Roskoshestvo Helena Cartaway.

The experts also found that the number and ratio of proteins in any brand violations were found. The following parameter study was the fat content. According to the study, fat mass fraction in all studied adaptive mixtures comply with the requirements. The content of vitamins and minerals in some tested samples of the mixtures were below the established norm.
