The decision GreenClip from Smurfit Kappa is an alternative to the plastic rings that are commonly used to package six cans. In the media often publish shocking images of marine animals and birds caught in plastic rings. Therefore, many vendors of beverages strive to use packaging that will not harm the environment. GreenClip became corrugated cardboard alternative for bundles of cans, but it can be successfully used for selling individual items.

And for replacement of shrink film used for forming and selling a few jars in one carton, Smurfit Kappa has proposed a solution TopClip. This package fully covers the upper part the cans, protecting them from possible contamination. In addition, it is great for advertising and brand promotion. Compared to plastic packaging, the production of TopClip formed 30% less carbon dioxide emissions. The new material does not contain plastics and is 100% recyclable, is renewable and biodegradable. For the manufacture of such packaging requires fewer raw materials and do not use glue so it is more environmentally friendly than other recent solutions in the market. And the two slotted holes in the package allow to easily take the product in the store. Not surprisingly, this decision has received excellent reviews from consumers during testing.

Third successful company's decision was the packaging Nor Gripthat Smurfit Kappa introduced in the beginning of this year. Nor-Grip is an innovative solution made of corrugated cardboard, eliminates the heat shrink film for packing bottles.

Currently, Smurfit Kappa is working with several large companies involved in the automation of production, and develops complete solutions "turnkey" for interested customers.

Smurfit Kappa research showed that 75% of consumers prefer environmentally friendly packaging".

All three new packaging solutions were presented at the "Bottom of the packaging for a better future of the planet" (Global Better Planet Packaging Day), which was first held on 21 November in all global centers of innovation Smurfit Kappa. Events were held in 20 countries and included the presentation of new products, interactive seminars for clients and lectures by invited speakers.
