This year Australia expects to raise a good crop of wheat, as the weather during the growing period was almost perfect in most parts of the continent.

However, there were indications that the weather during the harvest season (October-December) may be unfavorable. There is a high probability of occurrence in the Pacific ocean climate phenomenon La niña.

La niña usually brings cold and wet weather in the main wheat growing areas, located in the East of Australia. Rainy weather during harvest will significantly degrade its quality. A similar situation was observed in 2010, when rainfall caused by La Nina dramatically reduced the quality and yield of Australian wheat.
