For the first 5 maasaw of the current season Australia increased its exports of canola to 1636 thousand tons (1182,8 thousand tonnes in 2015/16 season). The growth of rapeseed crop in Australia contributed to the increase in procurement given culture EU countries, where there is a decline of rape production.

The EU since the beginning of the season increased its imports of rapeseed to 1498,1 thousand tons against 1118,1 thousand tons over the same period last season.

Also, due to the higher export potential of Australia, the increase in purchases was observed on the part of China to 63 thousand tonnes, and Japan at 26.3 million tons (19 thousand tonnes in the 2015/16 season).
