At the end of September-February 2016/17 season, exports amounted to 1400 thousand tons (-49% compared to the same period last season).

A significant decrease in shipments was observed in the direction of the main buyer of Argentine soybeans is China, which during the period under review has imported a total of 1,123 thousand tonnes (-49,1% compared to the same period last season). Exports to Egypt dropped to 66 thousand tons compared to 136 thousand tons, and North America (USA, Cuba, Canada), on the contrary, increased purchases by importing 50 million tonnes (27.7 thousand tons).

This month traditionally activates the export shipments of soybeans, with the arrival of the new harvest. Last season, exports totaled 10.3 million tons (Sept-August 2015/16). In the current season, according to estimates of the USDA, exports will be reduced to 9 million tons.
