In June, the country exported 9.2 million tonnes as against 7.8 million tons in June 2016. Thus, since the beginning of season to June, the export is 45,96 million tons, or +6% compared to the same period last season (43,34 million tonnes).

Overall this season, exports may increase to a record 62.4 million tons against 54,38 million tons last season, according to estimates of the USDA. However, according to some analysts, exports of Brazilian soybeans will be below forecast due to weak pace of farmer sales.

The main buyers of Brazilian soybeans – China and the EU imported over the period of more than 30 million tons and 4 million tons of soybeans, respectively.

In the 2017/18 season, the USDA forecast lower soybean crop in Brazil to 107 million tonnes, despite the expansion of the sowing area to 34.7 million hectares. these forecasts are very approximate as sowing of soybeans will begin in September.
