In the first four months of the current season Russia holds the record pace of export shipments. So, for the period from September to December 2017/18 MG foreign markets are supplied 762 thousand tons of sunflower oil, which is 23.3% above last year's export volume over the same period.

Current 2017/18 season on Russian export market of sunflower oil continues to show a change of leaders. After four months the main importer becomes Egypt (22% of total exports), increase the purchase of up to 167.7 thousand tons against 95,6 thousand tons a year earlier. Turkey takes the second place (18%), despite the reduction in imports to 138,6 thousand tons against 244,3 thousand tons. Followed by China (9%), Iran (8%) and Uzbekistan (7%). In addition, India, remaining the main importer of Ukrainian sunflower oil continued to show interest in the product from Russia, buying more than 9 thousand tons of oil. The new Russian market of sunflower oil in the current season is the Qatar.
