Rosselkhoznadzor to ban cattle export from southern regions of Russia
Due to foot-and-mouth disease threat it will be forbidden to transport live cattle from Southern and North Caucasian federal districts.

Rosselkhoznadzor intends to ban export of live cattle since September from North Caucasian and
Southern federal districts for prevention of foot-and-mouth disease spread, informed
a representative of the department Alexey Alekseenko. According to him, the
probability of this measure introduction is very high as the situation with ASF,
which had spread practically on all European part of Russia, shall not be repeated.
In July Ukraine banned transit of Russian grain from Krasnodar Krai due to threat of foot-and-mouth
disease epidemic.
Foot-and-mouth disease focuses were recorded in May/July this year in Krasnodar Krai,
Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria.
