Forecasts-2014: will the WTO rescue from crisis?
The Agro2b portal has taken a poll of heads of the agriculture branch unions of Russia. The main issues were how the branches succeeded last year and their expectations from 2014 within the WTO and world economic stagnation.

- Rosagromash association president Konstantin Anatolyevich Babkin told that lots of opportunities have been missed because the potential of rural mechanical engineering of Russia was huge and this potential hadn't been used last year.
- According to president of the Grain Union of Russia A. Zlochevsky, in the current season profitability of grain cultivation was at steady average level.
- Chairman of the National Union of food exporters D. Bulatov is moderately optimistic: "Export of Russian agri food products develops very actively, over the last 10 years the deliveries increased almost by 8 times and reached 16,7 billion dollars in 2012". The WTO membership of Russia opens new opportunities to promote agri food products at foreign markets. However, the WTO, in his opinion, is not a panacea, but only one of necessary tools.
