The state institution "State regional center of standardization, Metrology and testing in the Krasnoyarsk territory" (subordinate organization of Rosstandart) evaluated the quality and safety of butter, presented in a trading network of the regional center. Best butter "Brest-Litovsk" produced "Savushkin product".

Independent experts have examined 17 samples of oil produced by enterprises of Russia and Belarus. The samples were purchased in large retail chains regional center.

Product audits took place in several stages. At the first stage the oil was tested in the laboratory for microbiological and physico-chemical parameters, as well as on the fatty acid composition. In particular we investigated the indicators of microbial contamination, the presence of Salmonella and E. coli, yeast and mold, and the presence of vegetable fats. Then, the tasting panel composed of specialists from the Centre for standardization and Metrology, the Ministry of agriculture of the region, Rosselkhoznadzor, Rospotrebnadzor, representatives of the dairy companies and trade networks were evaluated by texture, taste, color and smell of the product.

According to the results of the rating assessment of only one sample did not elicit comments of experts – butter "Brest-Litovsk" the company "Savushkin product". During the inspection of Rosstandart the oil sample "Brest-Litovsk" received the highest number of points - of 19.9 out of 20 and was recognized as the most safe, quality and tasty product among presents of butter on the shop shelves.

15 of 17 submitted for evaluation samples of the Commission was removed from the sampling in the first stage: the products have been identified as a major breach of requirements of state standards and Technical regulations.
