Preferential rate loans to farmers at 5% must earn by 2017, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

He holds a meeting on Federal budget expenditures for 2017 and the planning period of 2018 and 2019 as part of the agriculture and fisheries sector.

"It is necessary to include in the budget funding the creation of conditions for preferential lending rate of 5% ready. In 2017, we this mechanism should be made to work", — he said.

Dmitry Medvedev said that the budget should be allocated to priority areas. Among them short-term loans for conducting seasonal field work.

"In addition, there is an interest of entrepreneurs to investment projects. Them in the Ministry of agriculture is now quite a lot - nearly 150 in all different areas, from dairy complexes to wholesale distribution centers", — said the Prime Minister.

He also noted that it is necessary to continue the programme of reclamation of agricultural land.

Another important area is the development of science in agriculture.

"It is obvious that the seeds and breeding materials we need to provide for themselves independently, in much larger volumes than now", — said the Prime Minister, noting that this topic will be discussed separately and at other meetings and by the government Commission.

This year from the Federal budget on support of agriculture has been allocated 214 billion.
