At the core of this system is x-ray technology that can measure the output of meat, bones and fat from each carcass. Such an evaluation system is expected to be tested next year on beef carcasses, and then will enter everywhere. About this development was announced recently by Richard Norton, managing Director Meat and Livestock Corporation Australia (MLA).

Thanks to the initiative of MLA on installation of these measuring systems was allocated $ 150 million and now this equipment can be installed at 90 slaughterhouses across the country.

"The most important characteristic objective measurements of carcasses are received, the data that will be available to all market participants across the value chain. After the initial period the objective measurement of mascara, all valuable information including commodity meat, bones and fat that will be provided to other participants of the supply chain ", said Norton.

This step is supported by the Australian Commission on competition and consumption, and the Federal Ministry of agriculture Australia.

This technology for many years was used in the field of health and medicine, but recent studies have shown that it can effectively be used in the meat industry.
