More than 200 thousand tons of grain exported in 2017 to exports from the Novosibirsk region by rail. This was announced on Monday at hardware meeting the Deputy Minister of agriculture of the region Evgeny Leshchenko.

Last year farmers of the Novosibirsk region collected record harvest of over 3 million tons of grain, and faced with the difficulties of export of grain for export due to large volumes of products and lack of transport. In December of 2017 entered into force a decree on the subsidizing of expenses of Railways on the carriage of grain at reduced rates.

"All rail transport exported 325 thousand tons of grain, including exports - 210 thousand tons. In agreement with the "UGC-South" (United grain company) 100 thousand tons of grain, paid for and shipped out. We are currently working on amendments to the decree [of subsidizing of expenses of Railways on transportation of grain], for our region [the volume] should be increased to 100 thousand tons, the grain is on the seven accredited elevators, and ready for export," - said Leshchenko.

UGC - state grain operator and agent for carrying out procurement and commodity interventions. The company performs functions of organization of safety of the state grain intervention Fund and its implementation on the orders of the Ministry of agriculture and the government of the Russian Federation. "UGC-South" plans to buy from farmers in Novosibirsk 200 thousand tons of grain.
